The Opposition Leader, Dr. Pema Gyamtsho said the government has been reported of breaching provisions of the Constitution and existing laws and rules.
During the National Assembly’s question hour session, Dr. Pema Gyamtsho asked what course of action the government is taking, to hold those violating the Constitution, accountable.
Responding on behalf of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Damcho Dorji said the government has been functioning in line with all the provisions and existing laws and rules of the country.
“If in any case, we have breached the provisions or laws of the country, be it the Opposition Party, National Council, Anti-Corruption Commission or the Royal Civil Service Commission, we would like to request them to officially write to us about it.”
Lyonpo said they would clarify accordingly. “Just writing press releases or mentioning them in annual reports, without proper evidences, makes it hard for us to work and respond.”
The home minister also said the government would immediately respond to such a letter and take responsibility.
