The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has three new divisions. The divisions are Judgment Enforcement, Financial and Corporate and International Affairs and Environment divisions. With the new divisions, the office will now be able to restitute funds and compensations timely after the judgment. The office can also recommend the government regarding procurement and related issues and international laws.
The Financial and Corporate division will review the procurement system and tender documents and advise the government on any commercial and financial-related matters. It will also ensure due diligence and effective implementation.
And the Judgment Enforcement division will enforce restitution of funds to the state, compensation to victims and referral of minor substance abusers to rehabilitation centres.
International Affairs and Environment division will strengthen and build legal capacity. It will advise and recommend the government on international trade law, investment and criminal law and diplomatic privileges and immunities among others.
The OAG also released five books; three guidelines on the roles and mandates of OAG, legal officers in ministries, thromdes and agencies, a handbook of laws and a book on the wheel of laws.
