Tashichhoeling Gewog in Samtse under lock down

Lockdown in Tashichhoeling Gewog in Samtse has been extended by one week till 9th July. The District COVID-19 Task Force announced this yesterday after failing to ascertain the source of the virus in the last three days. All primary contacts of the man who tested positive earlier this week in Tashichhoeling Gewog tested negative.

Based on the assessment of contact tracing and surveillance, almost 30 people from the gewog covering Gola town, Belbotey, and Peljorling were identified as the primary contacts of the man who tested positive on June 28. The man is a waste collector of the Tashichhoeling Drungkhag.

As per the notification issued by the Dzongkhag COVID-19 Task Force yesterday, the movement of people and vehicles has been restricted except for essential services. Likewise, schools, offices, and institutions shall continue to remain closed until further notice.

Livestock and farming activities are allowed within the family members. And construction works will be allowed but only in self-containment mode with prior approval from the Dungkhag Task Force.

The easing of lockdown in Tashichhoeling Gewog will now depend on the results of the cluster testing which will be conducted soon.
