HRH Gyaltshab inaugurates “Use Right System Project” in Monggar

His Royal Highness Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck inaugurated the “Use Right System Project” in Monggar yesterday. This is the second such pilot project, which aims at granting state land for youth employment, productive farming, and other purposes.

His Royal Highness Gyaltshab awarded the Use Right certificates to two youth groups from Silambi and Ngatshang Gewogs. The two groups will use the 16 acres of land allotted to them to grow vegetables and other commercial crops.

Besides freehold and leasehold, this is the third form of Land Kidu. The beneficiaries are however, prohibited from using the land as mortgage or selling it to others.

As part of the programme, the youth groups will also be provided with all basic amenities and wages for a year to help them become established.

His Royal Highness also granted a tokha to the people gathered at the event. If successful, similar projects will also be launched in other dzongkhags.
