The 23rd annual Dzongdags’ conference began today in the capital. Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay who graced the opening said Dzongdags are His Majesty’s direct representatives in the Dzongkhags.
“The primary responsibility as His Majesty’s direct representative is to execute and fulfill His Majesty’s command,” said Lyonchhen, urging the Dzongdags to keep their districts clean, safe and organised which, he said, is also a nation building.
At the three-day conference, Dzongdags from 20 districts will discuss issues faced in their respective areas. The conference is themed, “Role of Dzongdag as Chief Executive Officer of Dzongkhag in Nation Building”.
