The road block at Thumangdra along Wangdue-Trongsa highway is expected to open by tomorrow evening.
The highway was closed to traffic since yesterday afternoon after the rain triggered landslide blocked the road completely. Thumangdra is 15 kilometres away from Trongsa towards Wangdue.
The road could not be cleared today as officials say they have to first clear the settlements below the road. Only then the blasting will be done to clear the debris.
Meanwhile, the contractor executing the road widening works at the site provided food to nearly 30 passengers stranded in the area.
