BHSEC pass percentage falls from 91.55 per cent in 2019 to 90.63 in 2020

The Bhutan Council for School Examinations and Assessment declared the results of the Bhutan Higher Secondary Education Certificate (BHSEC) Class XII Examination for the academic year 2020, today. Over 13,500 students from 74 higher secondary schools appeared in the examination.

The BHSEC national percentage for the academic year 2020 stands at 90.63 per cent. It has decreased from the pass percentage in the academic year 2019 which stood at 91.55 per cent. Meanwhile, in the Language and Culture Studies Certificate, over 300 students appeared the examination.

Kelden Ghallay from Damphu Central School topped the Science Stream with 92.5 %, Kinley Khamsum Lhendup from Drukgyel  Central School stood second with 91 % followed by Ugyen Thukzom and Arpan Timsina from Ugyen Academy with 90.75 % each in the third position.

Tshering Dekar from Rangjung Central School, topped the commerce stream with 89.76 per cent followed by Kinley Pema Dendup from Desi High School, Tashi Choden, also from Desi High School, Kinley Chogyel from Mongar Higher Secondary School and Sonam Drakpa from Ugyen Academy with 85.75 per cent each in the second place and  Yeshey Lhadon from Mongar Higher Secondary School with 85.25 per cent in the third place.

Sonam Tshomo from Motithang Higher Secondary School topped the Arts stream with 88 per cent, followed by Tshering Chodron from Yangchenphug Higher Secondary School with 86.75 per cent in the second place, and Priya Rai from Damphu Central School, and Kinga Lhazom from Rangjung Central School with 85.5 per cent each in the third place.

Lodray Jamtsho topped the LCSC with 83.5 per cent, Tshewang Rinzin with 79.5 per cent in second place followed by Tendi Zangmo with 78.75 per cent in third place. All the toppers are from Taktse Central School.
