Less but serious buyers

Compared to last year, the number of people visiting the construction expo has declined. But the less people visiting the expo this time are serious buyers. The companies’ representatives at the expo said these people made serious enquiries about the products.

A few of them said the impact of taking part in the expo will reflect three or four months later. “The demand that we get from this area, if it comes in a rapid way, I will think that my coming to this expo is a successful one,” said Sankhajit Roy of R. R Kable.

Some of the companies which took part in last year’s expo are positive about the increase in the demand of their products. Sunil Shah of Commercial Kitchen, said he has already received many orders from Bhutanese clients. Also, most products which were displayed in his stall are already sold. “This particular expo was client focused. They were serious buyers,” he said.

Companies from India, Bhutan and Thailand participated in the expo. The expo was organized by the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

According the BCCI official, the main objective of the expo was to create a network between Bhutanese contractors and the suppliers from India.

The five day construction expo ended today.
