Bhutan now has 95 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with two more cases detected in the last 24 hours in a 24-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman returning from the Middle East. Both of them were quarantined at a facility quarantine in Paro and have been moved to the isolation ward today.

The man who was asymptomatic tested positive on the mandatory rapid test after completing his quarantine. The test was confirmed later by RT-PCR. Meanwhile, the woman arrived in the country on 23rd July and showed symptoms after which she tested for the infection.

The two new cases take active cases in the country from eight to ten. As per the Health Ministry, 85 patients have recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, the Bhutanese patient in Kolkata who tested positive for the virus a week ago is in stable condition.

The 19-year-old female who was asymptomatic tested positive for COVID-19 while preparing for her surgery scheduled on 21st July. She is currently in the Kidu guest house. However, her two attendants tested negative.

The health officials said the Consulate General and Health Liaison Officers are monitoring the situation regularly. The government is bearing all the expenses for the testing and treatment if required.
