The Khengrig-Namsum- Cooperative’s (KNC) processing plant at Goling in Zhemgang was damaged by a fire yesterday.
The fire disaster struck around 4:30 in the morning.
The single-storey concrete building housed processing plant equipment worth Nu 3 M, which were all destroyed. Tonnes of raw and processed materials were burnt.
The cause of the fire is not known.
The building earlier belonged to the Post Harvest Department of the agriculture ministry. It was handed over to the KNC in 2015.
