Farmers’ sales outlet and cold storage facility- Tsirang

Farmers in the country have been affected by the lack of proper storage and access to markets. Reports of their hard work rotting in the fields will often dominate social media and mainstream media. But this will no longer be the case for farmers in Tsirang. The district administration opened a sales outlet and cold storage facility in Damphu town last month. The facility is outsourced to a youth group in the district.

While they all agree that the policy will benefit the country in the long run, they fear the price they pay will equally be high. Haa DT rejects Bji Gewog’s proposal of regulating daily wage rate

The Haa Dzongkhag Tshogdu (DT) rejected the proposal of making a uniform wage for daily labour, and religious services in the district. It was proposed by Bji Gewog in the recent DT. However, Bji Gewog will implement the proposal in the gewog for now and if it is successful, the gewog plans to bring up the proposal in the next DT.

OAG and ACC take Nubri Investment case to Supreme Court

Tsirang DT rejects parking fee collection proposal in Damphu town

Damphu town’s parking system was a topic of discussion yet again at the recent Dzongkhag Tshogdu in Tsirang. The DT endorsed the “30-minute parking system” for the town last year, allowing people to park their cars for a maximum of only 30 minutes. This time, the members deliberated on doing away with it and introducing a parking fee collection system instead.

Farm road leading to Chhimi Lhakhang needs blacktop

The residents of Yuwakha in Barp Gewog in Punakha are tired of travelling on the road riddled with potholes every day. They want the farm road between the Punakha highway and Chhimi Lhakhang to be blacktopped.
