All children aged 12-17 years in high-risk areas to receive Moderna vaccine

The health ministry will administer the Moderna vaccine for children aged 12-17 years in high-risk areas. According to the ministry, the Drug Regulatory Authority authorised its emergency use in the country yesterday. The vaccination drive for the age group will start on Thursday.

UNICEF hails Bhutan’s successful completion of full COVID-19 vaccinations for 90% of the eligible population

Bhutan completed the second phase of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination on Monday. The country was able to vaccinate more than 90 per cent of the eligible population. And with the vaccination of the unreached population underway till the end of this month, the coverage is likely to increase. This, according to a statement from the UNICEF Bhutan, is a result of exemplary efforts by the government.

Phuentshogling reopens cautiously

More relaxations came into effect from today as Phuentshogling cautiously reopens. The Southern COVID-19 Task Force started easing restrictions Mega Zone-wise from Friday. The town was under lockdown for more than a hundred days after a positive case was detected from the community on April 16. 

Yak herders walk for days for vaccination

G-camp engages more than 8000 students over summer break

Almost sixty per cent of the total population has been vaccinated so far. Looking at this, the health minister says the target of vaccinating at least eighty per cent of the country’s population to achieve herd immunity is looking highly achievable.
