‘Shaking table’ to test earthquake resilience in buildings

Being in a seismic zone, Bhutan is prone to earthquakes. To build more earthquake resilient structures in the country, the department of culture is introducing ‘shaking table’ facility.

Resumption of MRI service at JDWNRH delayed

It has been about seven months without a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services at Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH) in Thimphu. The hospital says it will take a few more months to resume the service.  

New hospital’s location worries Bajo residents

The dzongkhag hospital of Wangdue Phodrang will soon be shifted to the new 60-bed hospital across the Bajo town. This has left the residents of the Bajo town unhappy. They say there is a need for a health unit in the place of the old hospital. The old hospital is located near the town.
