Being in a seismic zone, Bhutan is prone to earthquakes. To build more earthquake resilient structures in the country, the department of culture is introducing ‘shaking table’ facility.  

Bhutanese inventions will be granted patent protection if the inventor wishes to take it abroad encouraging more innovation and invention. But this will only be possible if Bhutan joins the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) that facilitates patent protection in multiple countries.

A 31- year -old man, a driver with the Construction Development Corporation Limited (CDCL) was electrocuted while he was cleaning a water tank in their colony in Monggar yesterday.

It has been about seven months without a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services at Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH) in Thimphu. The hospital says it will take a few more months to resume the service.  

The dzongkhag hospital of Wangdue Phodrang will soon be shifted to the new 60-bed hospital across the Bajo town. This has left the residents of the Bajo town unhappy. They say there is a need for a health unit in the place of the old hospital. The old hospital is located near the town.
