A three-day Annual Dratshang Conference began today.The conference will look at improving and strengthening traditional etiquettes, and make of mask dances and rituals uniform in the country, among others. The conference, chaired by the Dorji Lopen, is being attended by five Lopens, Lam Netens from all the dzongkhags, secretaries and other senior monk officials.

Indian police finds body of Bhutanese driver in Manas River

(Update): Police from the Indian State of Assam found the body of a Bhutanese driver in Manas River. The body of the driver had gone missing from Gamrichhu in Trashigang after the bolero he was driving had plunged into the river killing six people on May 17.

Unemployment rate decreases 0.3 percent

The Election Commission of Bhutan hosted a signing ceremony of the constitution of Bhutan Children’s Parliament in Punakha, today. Student representatives of 153 democracy clubs in the country signed the Constitution at the Punakha Dzong’s Kuenray.
