Indo-Bhutan car rally arrives in Thimphu
The fifth Indo-Bhutan car rally arrived in Thimphu, this afternoon. The rally, which is conducted after every two years, was flagged off from Siliguri in West Bengal of India.

An informer, who had filed a complaint against Shengana’s Mangmi of Punakha, of misusing Rural House Building Timber was not satisfied with the investigation. Touchu says the case was not investigated as per his allegations.

A public sitting of the Youth Initiative took place in the capital today. Twenty seven youth from different schools and institutions form the Youth Initiative (Y I). The Members formed three committees; social media, education and the sustainable development committee. Each committee presented issues that they felt needed attention. The YI started last year with 20 members.
Bhutan Cancer Society launched
Coinciding with the World Cancer Day today, Her Royal Highness, Ashi Kesang Wangmo Wangchuck officially launched the Bhutan Cancer Society at Memorial Chorten in Thimphu.

Nangkor’s villagers reject mining proposal
People of Nangkor Village under Shumar Gewog in Pema Gatshel have rejected a proposal for gypsum extraction in their village. One of the villagers, Tharchen had proposed to start a private mining in his land.
Farmers in Bumthang switching to hazelnut
Farmers in Bumthang are now switching to hazelnut from other crops like potato, barley and buckwheat. Many say growing hazelnut is not labour-intensive as compared to other crops, they earlier grew. They also say hazelnut fetches more money.
