Bhutanese cyclist bags silver medal in Nepal

A Bhutanese teenage cyclist took the second place and bagged a silver medal at the Dharan Showdown Mountain Biking Championship, held at Nepal. Jigme Tenzin, 16, completed the cross country race, in junior category, just four seconds later than the first rider.

Football coaches from 18 dzongkhags are meeting in Gelegphu to take stock of the achievements in the last six months and the action plan for the coming six months. Some of the participants pointed out lack of proper football ground and sporting materials as a stumbling block in developing the sport in their dzongkhag. The five-day workshop will end on Friday.

Paro Police are investigating a hit and run case which killed a woman, 36, in Isuna, Paro, last evening at around 7. The victim lived with her family in Isuna. Police say there was no eyewitness at the time of the incident. They are requesting people, who sees any vehicle with suspicious dent marks, to inform them.
