An open league and knockout basketball tournament began in Samdrup Jongkhar, yesterday. From the 14 teams that are taking part, eight are boy’s teams and six are girl’s teams.The final will be played on the 19th of this month. The tournament is being organized by the Sports Association of Samdrup Jongkhar.

FIFA World Cup Trophy to be in Bhutan in December

The FIFA World Cup Trophy will be in Bhutan on December 20 as part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca Cola. The trophy will be journeying around the world ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. This will be the first time that the authentic, solid gold trophy will be coming to Bhutan. The tour has been officially launched in Thimphu, and the countdown began today.
