Visit to India fruitful: Foreign Minister

What next for Thimphu TechPark?

After more than a year, the commercial space on the first floor of the Thimphu TechPark, the country’s first IT Park was developed in May, this year. The right wing is occupied by the ScanCafe, a US registered firm. ScanCafe specialises in digitising and editing older formats of photography and video.  The company has already employed more than 130. They are expecting to create additional jobs. The left wing which has been developed is still vacant.

Bhutan ranks 109 in economies around the world

Of the 147 economies around the world, Bhutan ranked 109 on providing friendly environment and incentives to businesses. The study was carried out by the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. The report was released to the media by the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, yesterday.

A soldier in a critical condition

Bhutanese woman detained in Bangkok for carrying illegal substance

A Bhutanese woman was detained at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok for supposedly carrying illegal substance. She was detained on Sunday along with two other Bhutanese nationals by the Thai Authorities, when during a random check, five kilograms of an illegal substance called Ketamine, was found in the suitcase that the three were sharing.
