The Samdrup Jongkhar Initiative has come up with a zero waste training manual. The training manual, which was launched earlier this month, aims to further strengthen the understanding on effort to minimize waste. The manual contains illustrations and practical ideas on dealing with everyday waste that people produce.

The Ambassador of India to Bhutan, V P Haran is on a one-day visit to Bumthang. The ambassador today, visited Jakar Higher Secondary School and Gangrithang Primary School. The ambassador met with the staff and visited the school infrastructure built with the help of Indian Government. He will leave for Trongsa tomorrow.

Men detained for alleged gang-rape

Three men from Naja Gewog in Paro have been apprehended for alleged gang-rape of a 37-year-old woman. The incident is supposed to have taken place on May 7 in Haa. Two of the accused have confessed to the crime. The victim is a mother of three.
