Police found bullet cartridges of AK 47 near blast site

(P/ling bomb blast update): The bomb blast in Rinchending last evening damaged a forest check-post office and injured one police constable. The injury was not from the blast. According to an eye witnesses, few minutes before the explosion, suspects fired at the police and Immigration check-post. That was when the constable got hit. The injured constable and his senior colleague were outside the check post when the incident happened.

Learning station out of order

The hole-in-the-wall learning station for children located at the Changjiji colony in Thimphu has stopped functioning. According to the Department of Information and Technology the station has been closed down due to power maintenance. The project, which was started to allow children from the lower income families have access to information online- has stopped functioning for quite some time now.

City buses carry excess passengers: Taxi drivers

City buses in Thimphu are known for carrying excess passengers. After BBS did a story on it, stakeholders met to discuss the issue, last month. However, city buses are still carrying excess passengers, especially during the rush hour. This has left taxi operators unhappy.

Father and daughter drowned

A man and his eight-year-old daughter died after drowning in the sewerage tank in Phuentsholing this afternoon. According to the sources, the two deceased had come to the sewerage to feed the fishes. They were accompanied by one of their relatives.

Bomb blast in Phuentsholing

BREAKING NEWS: Bomb Blast is reported at Rinchending in Phuentsholing at around 8:30pm today. A police personnel injured. He has been referred to hospital. He's in stable condition. We will bring you the update tomorrow.

Meant for lower income group?

Genden Rinchen, a driver by profession, is a new occupant in one of the apartments in Changjiji, Thimphu, a housing complex meant for low income group. Man electrocuted in a hotel

A 37-year-old man was electrocuted in one of hotels in Gelephu. The incident occurred last night at around 7pm.
