Creating something out of nothing

Waste management in urban areas has been a continuing problem. To further educate the people on this, students and youth volunteers got together, creating something out of nothing. With assistance from the Thimphu City Corporation and other stake holders, they organised an Art Festival featuring products made from wastes.

Measures to tackle gang formation

In order to remove the gang culture amongst Bhutanese youth, the Chief of Police is visiting schools introducing the strategies taken up by the police to curb the problem. One such visit was made at the Dechencholing Middle Secondary School in Thimphu yesterday.

More scholarships under TICA

A six member Thai delegation from Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) is in the country to finalise the Thai-Bhutan Cooperation for the next three years. Once the co-operation is finalised, the Agency will provide 270 long and short-term scholarships for Bhutanese students to study in Thailand.

Treading the dangerous path

A village of about 30 households in Zhengosa, Punakha has been treading on a dangerous path. Falling under Geonshari Geog, the only suspension bridge connecting them to the main highway was damaged by the flash floods last summer. With their only source of connectivity disrupted, residents have no choice but to cross the swollen Mo Chhu to get to Punakha.
