The Department of Forests and Park Services has introduced a new insignia system for all forestry officials based on their ranks.

Until now, except for foresters and rangers, all forestry officials had been wearing the green forest official uniform without any insignia.

In Phibsoo Wildlife Sanctuary, the new insignia system was introduced during the recent Ranger Day celebration, with a pinning ceremony.

Speaking to BBS, the Dy. Chief Forestry Officer, Phuntsho Tobgay, said the insignia will be used from the level of forest officers till the Director-General level.

Phuntsho Tobgay said the new system would help in improving professionalism among different ranks as it comes with the Uniform Code of Conduct that needs to be followed by all the forestry officials.
