Police in Phuenstholing apprehended a 38-year-old man in connection with illegal transaction of controlled substances in the country. He was caught with 10 files of Nitrosun 10 and 60 files of Relipen tablet.
The man also carried a packet of marijuana worth Nu. 3,500. The man was caught at the Phuentsholing main gate at around 9.30 pm yesterday after a tip-off from an informer the same afternoon.
According to the man’s statement, the substances were for self-consumption. He had bought the substances from a supplier in Manglabari, an Indian town about two kilometres from Phuentsholing.
This is the first case of such kind to be reported in Phuentsholing this year.
