Dagana Dzongkhag has only one candidate from 14 gewogs contesting for the National Council election. Until yesterday, there were two contenders from Dagana vying for a seat in the National Council. However, one of the candidates from Goshi Gewog lost the nomination during the Gewog Zomdu. He secured only 83 yes votes. 103 voted no for his nomination.
The lone candidate for the Dzongkhag, is Sonam Dorji of Kana Gewog, the former National Council representative.
