Members of the local government including Gups, Mangmi, Tshogpas and Gaydrungs will henceforth be entitled to mobile voucher allowances after the joint sitting of the parliament passed the Local Government Entitlement Bill today.
Earlier, only the Gups were entitled for the allowances. Members would now also be entitled for casual, earned, maternity, paternity and medical leave. In the past, members were only entitled for leave without pay.
Henceforth, local government members will also be entitled for Daily Subsistence Allowance for travelling within their Gewogs.
