The Japanese government will provide a grant of Yen 174M to support masters and doctoral degrees for young Bhutanese government officials in Japanese universities.

The Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, Satoshi Suzuki, and the Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan, V. Namgyel, signed the Exchange of Notes for the Human Resource Development (HRD) Scholarship Project to Bhutan in New Delhi, India yesterday.

According to the press statement issued by the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in New Delhi, the project is expected to strengthen the excellent bonds of friendship, understanding, and cooperation that exist between Bhutan and Japan.

This is the 3rd Exchange of Notes signed for the HRD scholarship project. The first Exchange of Notes was signed in 2018 in Thimphu coinciding with the visit of the Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono to Bhutan.
