Households asked to evacuate following landslide risksFollowing landslide risks, Phuentshogling Gewog administration has asked 10 households of Taguna village to immediately evacuate.

The area has been eroding at a rapid pace. Some parts have even sunk by a few metres.

The gewog administration will rehabilitate the 10 households to another place. They also provided the affected households with disaster relief kits.

The Gewog’s Mangmi, Chandra Man Chamling said they have already asked the affected people to find suitable land and submit an application. “After that, since it’s a priority, the dzongkhag, dungkhag and gewog will follow up without delay.”

Meanwhile, people of five other villages who use the Ganglakha-Kungkha feeder road have been asked not to ply through the feeder road because of the risk involved.
