(UPDATE) His Majesty the King and the Gyaltsuen are still in Wangduephodrang monitoring the clearing works inside the ruins of the Dzong.

His Majesty also met with the volunteers from different agencies and the business community. His Majesty commended the volunteers and the business people for their support.

“During such situation, when everyone is mourning over the loss of one of the historic and sacred treasure, I am happy to see that business people are coming forward and supporting the workers,” said His Majesty.

The Home and Culture Affairs Minister and the Major General of Royal Bhutan Army are coordinating the entire clearing works.

Despite the major fire, everything in Mithrug Pai Lhakhang which was inside the Dzong is intact. However, the Guru Tshengyed Trongdrel and masks including sacred masks of Zhabdrung were lost to the fire.
