His Majesty the King has arrived in the country following a visit to the United Kingdom where he was elected as Royal Bencher of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.
The Inner Temple is one of the four Inns of Court in the United Kingdom and Wales.
Well known members of the legal society include British Prime Ministers Clement Attlee and George Grenville, Mahatma Gandhi, the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, and economist John Maynard Keynes.
His Majesty received the honour for his efforts in promoting the rule of law and democracy.
While in the UK, His Majesty also met with the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cambridge and the faculty and students at His Majesty’s alma mater Magdalen College in Oxford University.
His Majesty also graced the European Convention of Bhutan Societies annual meet and met the Bhutanese students studying in the UK.
His Majesty was accompanied by Her Majesty the Queen.
