His Holiness consecrates Namdroling Goenzin Dratshang in Lhuentse

His Holiness the Je Khenpo presided over three-day consecration of ceremony of Namdroling Goenzin Dratshang in Autsho, Lhuentse.

The construction of Dratshang began in 2002 and nearly took two decades to complete it. But the minor works inside the temple are yet to complete.

At present, there are 150 monks and 12 teachers in the dratshang.

Meanwhile, His Holiness conferred dhar to the newly appointed principal, udmze and lopens.

His Holiness has appointed 38-year-old Tshewang Jamtsho from Monggar as the new principal of Dozhong Goenpa in Lhuentse. Tshewang has a master’s degree from Tango University of Buddhist Studies.

Jiigme Zangpo, 29, from Pema Gatshel was appointed as Umdze of Namdroling Goenzin Dratshang. He studied in the same dratshang for the last eighteen years.

34-year-old Ugyen from Monggar was appointed as Lopen of Namdroeling Goenzin Dratshang. He has a master’s degree from Mysore Buddhist Monastery in India.

Similarly, 34-year-old Chimi from Dungkar was also appointed as new Lopon in the same dratshang. He has a master’s degree from Tango University of Buddhist Studies.

And 26-year-old Sonam Gyeltshen from Monggar was appointed as new Lopon of Dozhong Goenpa. He has a master’s degree from Dodedra Shedra.

His Holiness also awarded token of appreciation to his father Rinzin Dorji for coordinating the construction work and other people involved in the construction of institute.
