(Update) The Bumthang-Monggar highway was opened to traffic from around 5pm today. The RSTA base In-charge in Bumthang said the vehicles are able to move on after the excavator cleared the road ahead.
According to the Deputy Executive Engineer with the Department of Road in Sengor, Tashi Tenzin, about 7 kilometres of the road stretch from Monggar towards Bumthang is still not good. This, he said, is because of the steepness of the road.
