The National Youth and Junior Boxing Championship saw female participants for the first time. The championship was held in Thimphu, yesterday.
From the female participants, Tandin Lhamo and Dechen Wangmo competed in the final round and the former emerged victorious.
The organiser-Bhutan Olympic Committee said it is encouraging to see girls being forthcoming in various sporting activities.
Some 24 participants including both girls and boys competed in the championship.
