GDP records healthy growth

The Kingdom’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased substantially in the fiscal year 2010-2011.

The GDP is the volume of goods and services produced in the country.

It increased to 11.8 percent from 6.7 percent in the previous year.

The tertiary sector recorded the highest growth at 15.4 percent.

The secondary and primary sectors contributed 12.7 percent and 1.1 percent respectively to the GDP.

In 2010, Bhutan’s GDP per capita income also rose to US$ 2,277 dollars from US$ 1,852 in 2009.
