Four sentenced for voluntary manslaughter

districtcourtThimphu District Court sentenced four men to prison ranging from six months to over nine years for voluntary manslaughter, battery, and possessions of controlled substance.

The verdict, passed Wednesday, said they were involved in the death of a 16-year-old boy at Changangkha in Thimphu in June, this year.

The four was beating up a man when the boy happened to be at the scene.

The verdict said the boy had seen the man fall amidst the fight and had gone over to help him get up.

One of suspects had then stabbed the boy at the back.

He died on the way to hospital

At the time of the arrest, the four were found in possession of controlled substance.
