To improve business network and business relations between Bhutan and India, a team from Indian Importers Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) met with members of Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) yesterday. Participants exchanged ideas and shared experiences with each other.
The IICCI is an organization approved by the Indian Government that provides a platform for members to explore business opportunities. The Chamber aims at promoting business relations among SAARC countries.
According to IICCI, Bhutan has a special and close relationship with India and it is the endeavour of the Chamber to enhance trade, tourism and investment opportunities between the two countries.
“As almost 90 per cent of the business being done in Bhutan and the products in Bhutan come from India, we want to improve the relationship between the members of the chambers and BCCI in Bhutan so that it is a win-win situation for everyone,” said Sandeep Chaudhry, the Vice President for IICCI, India.
During the seminar, members of the delegation comprised of representatives from over 20 Indian companies interacted with Bhutanese counterparts from the Construction Association of Bhutan, Tourism Council of Bhutan, tour operators and other industries.
The event is expected to serve as an opportunity for companies of both countries to network and establish business relations.
