DPT-Meet the PressThe Druk Phuensum Tshogpa Party will have 11 new candidates in the upcoming elections. The revelation came during ‘Meet the Press’. The press conference was held today.

Asked whether it is morally right for the DPT to pursue better candidates despite having one, the Prime Minister, Jigmi Y.Thinley, said it is difficult to go for better candidates when we already have the best people.

“There are reasons why 11 earlier members need to be replaced. There are various reasons and some of the reasons you already know, health is one among other reasons,” said the Prime Minister. Lyonchhoen said replacing the members should not affect their party because they are all loyal members. “So as loyal members of the party whether they are called upon for representation doesn’t really matter.”
