Schools, government offices and institutions remained closed in Bumthang today as the Dzongkhag experienced its first snowfall of the year. Chhumig and Ura witnessed substantial amount of snow fall as compared to other gewogs.
Meanwhile, the buses travelling towards Thimphu and eastern regions were delayed for more than two hours due to heavy snowfall in Thrumshingla and Yotongla.
The officials from Department of Roads, Regional Road Safety and Transport Authority and Royal Bhutan Police were able to clear the area by 10am.
