Bhutanese in Japan safe from Typhoon Hagibis

According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Bhutanese residing in Japan are all safe from the recent storm that struck the country on Saturday. The storm, categorised as “Typhoon Hagibis” made landfall in South Tokyo on Saturday moving north and bringing severe flooding to the regions.

The report also stated that the Ministry is closely monitoring the situation through the Embassy of Japan in Bhutan situated in New Delhi, India.

Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering also wished strength and courage to those affected and wished for Bhutanese working and living in Japan to stay safe. The Prime Minister’s post also reads that officials are in touch to make sure everyone is outside the danger.
