The former Indian Foreign Secretary, Shyam Saran, said if the upcoming hydropower projects are impacted as a result of climate change, there will be an immediate impact on revenue generation.
He was speaking during the Fifth “Friday Forum”, “Climate Change: why should Bhutan worry”. The forum was held yesterday at the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies in Phuentsholing.
Shyam Sharan said Bhutan has to pay a lot of attention on the impact of climate change on the hydropower projects, if the country is to look at the viability of these projects currently and in the future.
