The third annual bilateral consultation between the governments of Bhutan and Australia was held yesterday.
The Bhutanese delegation was led by the Director General of the Bilateral Affairs of the foreign ministry, Kinga Singye, while the Australian delegation was led by the ambassador of Australia to Bhutan, Patrick Suckling.
The bilateral consultation provides a forum for the two countries to exchange views on a wide range of issues of mutual interest and also to discuss areas of co-operation in various fields.
Bilateral consultations are hosted by the two countries alternately in Bhutan and Australia. Bhutan hosted the first consultation in 2012. The second consultation was held in Australia in 2013.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries was established in 2002.
