PC: BOB Bhutan Premier League

The Bhutan Football Federation is penalising two players and the manager of Paro Rinpung FC for abusive language, threat and manhandling during their BOB Bhutan Premier League match with Thimphu City FC earlier this month.

Jigme Tsheltrim, Paro Rinpung FC’s forward, was handed down a four-match ban and a Nu 15,000 fine for using abusive words and threatening the match referee. He also assaulted the referee after he was shown the red card for his conduct.

Paro Rinpung FC’s Tandin Wangchuk was also slapped with a fine of Nu 15,000 and a four-match ban for abusing the Assistant Referee and threatening him. According to the BFF’s report, Tandin snatched the red card shown to him for his conduct from the referee and threw it. He was also found to have threatened to kill the assistant referee.

The club’s team manager, Namgay Dorji will have to pay Nu 10,000 in fines and serve a two-match ban for using abusive words and threatening the fourth official of the match.

Paro Rinpung FC went on to lose the match 5-0 after they lost their two players to disciplinary action during their game with Thimphu City FC on September 1 at their home. The Bhutan Football Federation investigated the disciplinary case following reports from match officials of unsportsmanlike behaviour by the two players and the manager.
