With the launch of Bbooking, people now have a choice to book their bus tickets online. The online booking system developed by Bhutan iVintage Solution was officially launched yesterday coinciding with 112th National day.
The system initially provided e-tickets for passengers travelling between Thimphu-Phuentshogling but now it offers services to other routes as well.
Bbooking, online bus ticketing service had a soft opening last month collaborating with Meto Transport Service between Thimphu and Phuentshogling.
Bbookng, facilitates people to book tickets online at www.bbooking.bt. Upon filing the details the passengers will be notified via an SMS. The users will be charged a nominal service fee of Nu 35 per ticket booked online.
The application connects the Royal Monetary Authority’s payment gateway to the online banking system through the use of a web or mobile application.
“We are officially launching the system and our team is really equipped and ready to take the system forward. Now we have started our new routes from Gelegphu. We are also already working with Paro and other eastern dzongkhags as well,” said Pranayee Chhetri, the CEO of Bhutan iVantage Solution.
“I saw a huge turnout between 11th November and 17th December. Within such a short span of time, almost 1,000 commuters have used online booking service. So these people have saved resources, especially in terms of time and money,” added Sangay Dorji, the Chief Operating Officer of Meto Transport Services who is also the co-founder of Bhutan iVintage Solution.
Coinciding with Bbbooking launch, Bhutan iVintage Solution also introduced an online movie ticket booking system.
“The system is ready. We have already had a couple of discussions with the movie fraternity and they are also well-supportive. So we are ready to roll the moment they ask us,” said Pranayee Chhetri.
Bbooking system is the second of its kind after DrukRide, launched in 2017.
