Australian Ambassador to Bhutan, Harinder Sidhu

The Australia Awards for Bhutan will resume starting next year.

The scholarship to pursue higher qualification in Australia was deferred for one year due to Australia’s bleak economic situation.

No applications were invited for intake, this year.

“We are very pleased to say that we have been able to revive the program this year and I have just had the pleasure of awarding 33 Australia Awards Scholarships as well as 12 Endeavour Awards Scholarships…” said Australian Ambassador to Bhutan, Harinder Sidhu.

The Ambassador said she is hopeful that they will continue those awards into the future with Bhutan.

“It’s a very important part of the Australia-Bhutan relationship”

Last year’s awardees will leave for Australia only next year.

The 45 of them were given certificates by the Australian Ambassador to Bhutan during a farewell event, last night.
