The house decided to withdraw the budget of Nu 5M allocated in the Supplementary Budget 2019-2020 earlier this year, for Parliamentary Committees and Secretariat services.

With the restriction on internal travels due to COVID-19, the Economic and Finance committee said that the budget was inapplicable. The budget will be surrendered to the Finance Ministry.

The Chairperson of the Economic and Finance Committee, Kinley Wangchuk said, “While the supplementary budget for other activities stands as adopted, due to COVID-19 and the restrictions on internal travels, the budget for Parliamentary Committees and Secretariat services has become irrelevant.”
