The police youth partnership programme in the capital concluded today on a happy note for all the participants.

The programme was started by the Royal Bhutan Police to tackle the growing youth related crime.

As the programme ended, the Home and Cultural Affairs Minister, Minjur Dorji, promised the 22 out of school youth jobs and training opportunities.

“We will help you continue your education if that’s what you want. If you want a job, we will try and get you one. Some of you expressed the desire to join the police force. We will send those of you to the police training centre at Jigmeling.”

Over the past two weeks, the participants accompanied police personnel on patrolling duty. They were familiarised with juvenile crime and the legal provisions and provided career counselling and guidance.
