Community Animal Birth Control Programme launched in ParoIn its efforts to control dog population and the spread of rabies, the Department of Livestock launched its Community Animal Birth Control Programme in Paro, today.

The livestock officials informed and educated locals and students on how to control the overpopulation crisis of dogs and rabies control by having them sterilised and vaccinated.

Paro is the second Dzongkhag to launch the programme after it was first started in Punakha.

As part of the programme, every Tuesday will also be observed as ‘Love Your Dog’, Day and the District Veterinary Hospital will also be carrying out a mass sterilization and vaccination campaign for dogs.

The mass sterilisation and vaccination programme will be held annually for a month.
