Nation observes Fourth Druk Gyalpo’s 58th Birth Anniversary

HM4thKingBirthAnniversaryThe Nation observed the 58th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo today. Students from different schools offered prayers and butter lamps and prayed for the long life of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gylapo.

His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo was born on November 11, 1955 at the Dechencholing Palace in Thimphu. During His Majesty’s reign, Bhutan witnessed unprecedented development and growth with the country enjoying peace, prosperity and stability.

November 11 is also observed as the Children’s Day and the Constitution Day.

PhotoExhibition_SJMeanwhile, the Bhutan India Friendship Association of Samdrup Jongkhar celebrated the Bhutan-India Friendship Day with the theme “Bhutan India friendship- a proud example of peace, harmony and healthy neighbourhood.”

During the event a photo exhibition on “Through the lens of the King” was launched. Consul General of India, Jitendra K Sharma, along with other Bhutanese officials attended the programme.
