Hon'ble PM with the Austrian delegation (1)The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, met with the 16-member business delegation from Austria, today. The delegation was led by the Vice-Minister for Foreign Economic Policy and European Integration in the Federal Ministry of Economy, Mrs. Bernadette Marianne Gierlinger.

Lyonchhen and the delegation discussed on diverse areas of cooperation including infrastructure and hydropower development, tourism, good governance and expansion of private sector. The Vice-Minister told Lyonchhen the next five years forecast a lot of possibilities for the two nations to bring about positive development changes in these areas.

“Bhutan’s young and small economy needed support and Austria’s generous aid is an indicator of the ultimate triumph of country-to-country partnership,” Lyonchhen told the delegation. He said the next five years need a lot of assistance in order to take social development to a significant stage and achieve the goal of self-reliance. “We look forward to working together, like we have been for decades, in both will and spirit and continue with this tradition for all times to come.”
