Over 3,000 acres of forest cover have been destroyed by a fire in Wangdue Phodrang. The fire is said to have started yesterday from a labour camp near Gawachhu under Daga Gewog. BBS’s reporter, Kuenzang Thinley, says the fire is spreading towards a place called Pinsa.
Forest and police personnel are still battling the fire. The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
