TShering-DorjiThe former MP, Tshering Dorji, 38, secured 1,630 votes from Haa. He was nominated from Bji Gewog. He also obtained 236 votes though postal ballot.

“Drawing from my own experience of the last five years as a legislator, I would like to commit to first ensure the Rule of Law,” he had said. Tshering Dorji said he would like to ensure that laws and policies are in line with the Constitution and that the government and institutions adhere to laws, rules and regulations.

After the 2008 elections, Tshering Dorji served as the Chairperson of the Natural Resources and Environment Committee.

He has promised to advocate the culture of democracy. He said he would like to keep issues such as poverty alleviation, corruption, youth unemployment, and growing income disparity alive through debates. He said would also take up issues of the public without compromising the national interest.

The other contender, Choda Jamtsho managed to secure 603 votes through EVMs and 236 through postal ballot. Khandu Wangchuk could secure 546 votes through EVMs and 88 through postal ballot. Tenzin Norbu secured 454 votes through EVMs and 26 through postal ballot.
